New audio tour launched in Miami Beach
A new audio tour is letting tourists hear the stories of Miami Beach from experts.
Discovery Miami Beach, which started the service in December, offers a media player, headphones and a map which visitors can use on foot, bike, car or tourist bus.
The self-guided audio tour, which starts at the Art Deco Welcome Center at 1001 Ocean Drive, highlights 29 well-known locations. Those include the mansion where fashion designer Gianni Versace was murdered, the Frank Gehry-designed New World Symphony building, the Delano hotel and Joe’s Stone Crab.
Narrators range from historian Seth Bramson to former “Queen of the Night” columnist Tara Solomon.
The cost is $14.95 a person for the walking tour, $29.95 for a DecoBike cycling tour and $39.95 for a tour aboard the double-decker Big Bus. Tours are available in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
More information is available online at www.discoverymiamibeach.com.
Discovery Miami Beach was featured in The Miami Herald and online. The Business section “Florida Briefs” column spotlighted the launch of the audio tour and noted its equipment, various transportation options, and panel of contributing guides.
